The Buddha's Paean of Joy

I have gone through many rounds of birth and death,
looking in vain for the builder of this body.
Heavy indeed is birth and death.

But now I have seen you, housebuilder;
you shall not build this house again.
Its beams are broken;
its dome is shattered:
self-will is extinguished;
nirvana is attained.

                                  ---The Dhammapada, verses 153 & 154---

These are the celebrated "householder verses," said by Ananda to have been uttered by the Buddha immediately after his Awakening under the Bodhi Tree.

After wandering through Samsara, Siddhartha has finally come face to face with selfish craving, the builder of separate existence. With this realization Siddhartha puts an end to greed, anger, and delusion once and for all and becomes the Buddha.
