What We Learn


In meditation we learn to neither engage nor suppress a thought or an emotion.

The same is true with desire or wanting. We do not engage or suppress. 

We allow the thought or emotion, the desire or wanting to pass.

What we have learned 'on the cushion' we take 'off the cushion'. As we go about our daily life, when we become aware of an intrusive emotion we neither engage nor suppress, we allow it to pass untouched.
