3/4 cup of flour
1 tablespoon of sugar
1 tablespoon of cornmeal
2 teaspoons of baking powder
1 teaspoon of salt
3/4 cup of milk
2 1/2 cups of finely chopped onion
Mix the dry ingredients.
Mix in the milk. This should give you a fairly thick batter.
Add the chopped onions and mix thoroughly.
Drop the batter by spoonfuls into hot oil in a skillet.
Flatten the drops into patties when you turn them.
Serve with bread and sliced tomatoes. Or, serve anyway you desire.
