Black Walnut Pie


1/2 cup of butter
1 cup of firmly packed dark brown sugar
1 cup of dark corn syrup
4 eggs, slightly beaten
1/2 teaspoon of salt
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
1 unbaked pie shell
1 cup of black walnut meats

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.

Cream the butter and the brown sugar in a mixing bowl.

Stir in the corn syrup, the eggs, the salt, and the vanilla.

Pour the mixture into the pie shell.

Arrange the walnuts meats symmetrically on top and bake for 40 to 45 minutes until it is set.
