East Prussian Bread Soup

8 slices of white bread, crusts removed and cubed
4 cups of water
4 cloves
1 cinnamon stick
1 tablespoon of sugar
1/2 teaspoon of salt
1/2 cup of sour cream
1 tablespoon of lemon juice

Combine the bread, the water, the cloves, the cinnamon stick, the sugar and the salt in a saucepan.

Bring to the boil; reduce the heat; simmer for 15 minutes.

Strain.

Heat; stir in the sour cream and the lemon juice.

Serve.
