Starving-Student Garlic Pasta

1 pound of your favorite pasta
1/2 cup of olive oil
1/4 cup of finely chopped onion
2 (or more, if your adventurous) cloves of garlic, finely minced
Salt to taste
Cayenne powder to taste
1/2 cup of toasted bread crumbs

Heat the oil in a large saute pan.

Lower the heat and add the onion. Cook slowly for 1/2 an hour.

Prepare the pasta according to the package directions.

Add the garlic to the onion mixture and cook for 1 minute.

Season the onion mixture with the salt and cayenne.

Drain the pasta when it is done to your liking. Reserve 1/3 cup of the cooking water.

Pour the reserved water into the onion-garlic mixture and cook for a couple of minutes.

Pour the drained pasta into the onion-garlic mixture and add toss well.

Pour the pasta and sauce onto a serving plate and sprinkle with the bread crumbs.
