The Four Truths

...the Four Truths are injunctions to do something rather than claims to be believed or disbelieved.

Gotama described how each truth presents its own challenge: suffering is to be fully known; craving is to be let go of; cessation is to be experienced; and the path is to be cultivated. The Four Truths are suggestions to act in certain ways under particular circumstances.
