Marriage Equality in the United States as of December 21, 2013
18 states now recognize marriage-equality is a fundamental human right: California, Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Illinois, Iowa, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Rhode Island, Utah, Vermont, and Washington State. The District of Columbia and Eight Native American Tribal Jurisdictions also recognize marriage equality. Oregon recognizes same-sex marriages performed in other states.
