The Dharma Hall Community

When we practice, or attempt to practice, meditation on our own we often end up making compromises. Because we are alone we know we will not disturb others if we shift position in order to find a little more comfort. So we shift. And we shift again. We might even shorten our time on the cushion. We may even find reasons not to sit.

But when we shift positions we are only disturbing ourselves. When we shorten our sit we are giving in to ego. When we decide to forgo sitting we are surrendering the Practice.

Sitting with others is a strengthening of resolve and a building of community.
