Old-Fashioned Michigan Dumplings


1 1/2 cups of flour
2 teaspoon of baking powder
1/2 teaspoon of salt
1 tablespoon of minced parsley
3 tablespoons of butter or vegetable shortening
3/4 of a cup of milk

Mix the dry ingredients in a medium-sized bowl.

Carefully stir in the parsley.

Cut in the shortening until the mixture looks like fine crumbs.

Stir in the milk.

Drop the dough by spoon into hot stew, soup, or broth.

Simmer uncovered for 10 minutes.

Simmer covered for 10 minutes.

Enjoy.
