Hot Pickled Cabbage




2 cups of thinly sliced or shredded white or green cabbage
1/4 cup of fresh lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon of salt
1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon of crushed garlic (to taste)
1/4 teaspoon of crushed red pepper flakes or a good pinch of cayenne powder

Place all the ingredients in a large bowl and toss to mix well.

Chill for at least 1 hour before serving.
