The
Buddha was able to free himself from conditioned response. He
experienced phenomena as it is, without wrapping it in opinion, desire, or wish.
This
is the practice of Buddhism, to become aware, and with that awareness
having the freedom to make choices without falling back on
conditioned response.
The Eightfold Path helps us respond with Compassion and Wisdom, and not to live on the automatic pilot of habit.
