Appropriate View points us to understand the Fourfold Truth, the Law of Cause and Effect, the Three Marks of Existence, and to not be deceived by appearances and desires.
Appropriate Thought points us to understand desires, greed, and hate, and to not allow these things to guide or actions of word, thought, or deed.
Appropriate Speech points us to avoid lying words, idle words, abusive words, and to avoid speaking with a double tongue.
Appropriate Action points us to avoid destroying or harming life, to avoid taking what is not freely given, to avoid sexual misconduct, to use language correctly, and to care for ourselves.
Appropriate Livelihood points us to avoid any profession that would cause harm.
Appropriate Effort points us to do our best to move in the proper direction.
Appropriate Mindfulness points us to maintain a pure and aware mind.
Appropriate Concentration points us to keep the mind calm and focused, moving towards it's original purity.
