The Three Poisons
Buddhism Teaches all unwholesome acts can trace their genesis to one or more of three causes.
These causes are refereed to as the Three Poisons.
They are:
Geed or Desire
Anger or Hatred
Ignorance or Delusion
Ignorance and delusion have slightly different approaches.
Ignorance can be likened to not knowing how to make a banana cream pie. You can solve that ignorance by consulting a recipe.
Delusion can be likened to believing a banana cream pie is made with onion and avocado. This delusion can be resolved by also consulting a recipe.
