Duality

If radiant beauty exists,
        the ugly will necessarily exist to oppose it.
    But if I do not take pride in beauty,
    Who will be able to consider me ugly?
If immaculate purity exists, the filthy will necessarily exist
        to counter it.
    But if I am not fond of purity,
    Who will be able to contaminate me?
