Ch'an Master Baizhang said, "I want someone to go and give a message to Ch'an Master Xitang Zhizang."
The monk Wufeng said, "I'll go."
"How will you speak to him?" Baizhang asked.
"I'll wait until I see Xitang, then I'll speak," Wufeng said.
"What will you say?" Baizhang asked.
"When I return, I'll tell you," Wufeng answered.
