The Second of the Four Bodhisattva Vows

Endless blind passions, I vow to uproot.

Once we've made the decision to walk the Buddha-Dharma Path, to assist others on their walk, we realize there are a few things that may get in our way.

We very quickly learn the things that get in our way are us. What gets in my way is me. I get in my way.

My ego.

That says it all.

There are those things the Buddha referred to as the Three Poison:
Greed/Desire,
Anger/Hatred,
and Ignorance/Delusion.

Again, my ego. These Three Poisons are tools of my ego. They nurture my endless blind passions.

If I stop and look at the non-wholesome side of me, I see these poisons. I see how I allow them, or use them, to increase my ego, my will—Me.
