Turning Living-Beings Into An Industial Product

The industrial model of animal agriculture depends on treating animals as raw materials to be turned into a product as quickly and efficiently as possible. This means showing no more concern for their needs and feelings than if they were pieces of steel or plastic. The industry likes to tell us that happy, healthy animals are better producers than sick, unhappy animals and so it is in the company's best interest to provide good living conditions. This is a lie. In fact, the opposite is true.
