Michigan Sweet Tomato Relish


4 cups of green tomatoes, chopped fine
1 red bell pepper, seeded and chopped fine
1 green bell pepper, seeded and chopped fine
2 medium onions, chopped fine
2 large tart apples, cored and chopped fine
2 1/2 cups of cider vinegar
2 1/2 cups of sugar
3 teaspoons of salt
2 teaspoons of whole mustard seed
2 teaspoons of celery seed

Mix the tomato, the peppers, and the apple. Place this mixture in a clean towel and squeeze out the excess juice.

Mix the vinegar with the remaining ingredients.

Boil the relish for 15 minutes.

Put in sterilized jars, seal, and place in a boiling bath.

Allow to cool.
