Last star seen as dawn approaches
first tender rays of the rising sun
He is Chenrezig, Avalokitesvara
With sweet humor sparkling
he reminds us that in time
we have all been each other’s mothers
reviled by those with eyes
that see only idiot-ology
His forgiveness encompasses all beings
symbol of hope of sanity
on the plane of madness
In the left eye love
in the right eye compassion
in the center transcendence
Promised to return to this point of pain
sounding forth the call of the Bodhisattva
to awaken us from the long dark dream.
Chinese bullets fall, ineffectual
into his ocean of love
