Sky Above, Great Wind

When Ryokan was begging in the highway station town of Tsubame, a child with a piece of paper came to him and said, "Reverend Ryokan, please write something on this paper."

"What are you going to use it for?" Ryokan asked.

"I'm going to make a kite and fly it. So, please write some words to call the wind."

Ryokan took the paper and wrote four big characters on it, "Sky above, great wind."

He returned the paper with the calligraphy to the child.
