D. T. Suzuki, in a question-and-answer period after a lecture, was repeatedly pressed by a self-proclaimed psychic who insisted he must have developed some clairvoyant abilities as a result of his years of Zen training.
Having fended off her questions a number of times, Suzuki finally replied, "What's the use of knowing the mind of another? The important thing is to know your own mind."
