Being A Gay Buddhist Practitioner

With its emphasis on psychology and the Law of Cause and Effect, Buddhism assesses acts, including sexual acts, by the intention behind them and the effect they have. A sexual act motivated by love, mutuality, and the decision to give and share would be assessed positive no matter what the gender of the two people involved. Therefore, being gay is not considered immoral in Buddhism or in opposition to the Third Precept.
