Original Mind
One day, when a Buddhist monk was traveling through Idaho, he went into some woods. There he found a spring and a little pond covered with autumn leaves. The water appeared red because of the red leaves.
He was thirsty, so he knelt down and scooped some water in his hands. The water was clear. It had not been stained or tinted by the autumn leaves.
He realized our minds must be pure like the pond he knelt beside.
The original nature of mind is not far away. It can be attained immediately.
Purity is the nature of the original mind.
