Fry Bread

2 1/2 cups of flour
1/2 teaspoon (or less) of salt
4 teaspoons of baking powder
2/3 cup of warm water

Blend in a bowl, the flour, the salt, and the baking powder.

Add the warm water and knead to make a stiff dough. Knead in additional flour if the dough feels too sticky.

Set the dough aside for 10 minutes.

Heat to very hot 3/4-inches of oil in a Dutch oven.

Break off pieces of the dough with floured hands and pat thin.

Fry the flatten pieces in the oil, turning once.

Place the cooked bread on paper towel to absorb any oil.

Serve immediately.

This recipe will make about 8 pieces of fry bread.
