The Question

In facing an ethical question or moral dilemma, we should not ask, "What is the right thing to do?"

This presupposes an answer to the question already exists as a metaphysical ideal.

The question should be, "What is the most wise and loving thing to do in this specific instance?"

Or, "What is the most wise and compassionate thing to do in this specific instance?"
